23 October 2024NZ Species Edit-a-thon – Successful Day One
The first day of the New Zealand Species Editathon at Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush on Saturday 19 October was a huge success! The stunning weather, and beautiful setting at the Leonard Cockayne Centre made it the perfect spot to dive into the world of Wikipedia editing. With a delicious spread to keep everyone fuelled, 15 editors, ranging from total beginners to seasoned pros, came together for a day of learning and collaboration.
After a presentation on the ins and outs of Wikipedia editing, the group got to work. Newcomers were guided by more experienced editors, but as the day went on, everyone found their rhythm and dived into improving articles on New Zealand species.
The next day of this two day event will be held on Saturday the 2nd of November. If anyone would like to attend day 2 tickets can be obtained via this Humanitix link https://events.humanitix.com/2024-nz-species-edit-a-thon
