Eligibility
Membership of Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand Inc is open to all individuals; you do not have to live in New Zealand, or be over a certain age. However, we ask that members agree to be bound by the rules of the society (the Constitution), and comply with the Wikimedia Foundation Universal Code of Conduct.
When applying for membership you must disclose your full name and contact details including residential address, as part of legal requirements of the Incorporated Societies Act 2022. This personal data is included in the society's register of members and may be made available to members and committee members under s39 of the Constitution.
We also ask that you disclose your username on any of the Wikimedia projects. The reason is so that when members of the committee review applications for membership, they can take editing history into account and ensure that you are in good standing with the Wikimedia community. Your username information will not be included in the register of members or be included in the information that may be made available for inspection by members under s39 of the Constitution. If you aren't comfortable disclosing this information, please still consider donating to the society instead, and supporting our activities by your participation.
